Making my first sales call at the age of 5 with my father, Gene, who happened to be a regional sales manager for Firestone Tire and Rubber in the Philadelphia area at that time. Now granted, at such a young age I didn’t tag along with Dad to help the sales quota. I have to be honest; it was all about the lunches we would take at all of the diners and dives throughout Philadelphia, Lancaster, County and Delaware. But, I knew right then and there that a traditional job was not up my alley.

As my father continued his entrepreneurial adventures and opened his first Atlantic service station in his hometown neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware, I couldn’t think of being anywhere else except right at the fuel islands and garages, meeting people and helping them with their motoring needs. It was there that my customer relationship skills really began and were sharpened by four very important words that I still repeat every day, “May I help you?” 

43 years later, I still focus on customer relationships but with a different set of tools to get the job done. My new toolbox which I started filling way back in 1999, consists of Internet and email marketing, C.R.M. strategies and direct response material.  They have taken the place of my analyzers, sockets and wrenches that I have finally retired.

Once again I feel like I’m out on the service island or in a virtual garage asking the same question I asked forty-three years ago…”May I help you?”
